INGREDIENTS

▪️ 2 cups Masa Harina (corn flour)
▪️ 1 ½ cups warm water
▪️ ½ teaspoon salt
▪️ Don Chendo Salsa (your choice of flavour)
▪️ Don Chendo Barbacoa
▪️ Crumbled cheese

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Masa Harina, warm water, and salt. Mix thoroughly until a smooth and slightly sticky dough forms. If the dough feels too dry, add a little more water; if it's too sticky, add more Masa Harina. (Check out our previous video with the step by step)
  2. Take a portion of the dough (about a golf ball size) and roll it between your palms to form a smooth ball. Flatten the ball slightly to create a thick disk, about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Heat a griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the dough disks on the hot surface and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they develop a light golden-brown color.
  4. Once the sopes are cooked, remove them from the griddle and let them cool slightly.
  5. Now, it's time to add delicious toppings! Spread a generous layer of Don Chendo salsa and Don Chendo Barbacoa on top of each sope.
  6. Finally, garnish your sopes with crumbled cheese and a bit of sour cream (optional).
  7. Serve your sopes immediately and enjoy the explosion of authentic Mexican flavors!
